Dr Sarah Bowcock female

MBBCh MRCGP

I graduated from Cardiff University in 2012 and completed my junior doctor training in 2014. Following on from this, I moved to Australia for 3 years where I worked in A&E in a little coastal town called Port Macquarie in NSW. This was a fantastic experience and allowed me to gain further experience in all aspects of medicine. In 2018, I decided that a long-term career in General Practice was right for me, and I moved to Cheltenham where I have stayed ever since. My final year of GP training was based at Leckhampton Surgery and on successfully completing my GP training in 2020 I joined the practice on a permanent basis as a Salaried GP.
I love the wide variety of patients and clinical cases that General Practice brings. I am specifically interested in women’s and child health.
Outside of work, I enjoy running, paddle boarding and going out for country walks.

Dr James Allanson, male

BMBS, BSc, MRCGP, DRCOG, PGCert

My undergraduate degree was in Chemistry at the University of York, following which I decided to change career course and studied a graduate-entry medical degree at the University of Southampton. I spent my junior doctor training years in North West London, and worked for one year as a GP in Notting Hill before moving to Cheltenham to be closer to family. I have no dedicated medical interest and enjoy the generalist approach being a GP provides. In the future I would like to be a trainer for new GPs.

Outside of work, I enjoy sports, specifically football, I play as an attacker for Montpellier FC (Division 1 Cheltenham Association Football League).

I live locally with my wife, Menna, who works as a Psychiatrist.
