We aim to be open and transparent with our patients about anything that may temporarily affect how we deliver our services.
Over recent weeks, we have experienced reduced staffing levels due to staff sickness and ongoing Resident Doctor strike action, which has meant we have been working on skeleton GP staffing. This has placed additional pressure on both our clinical and administrative teams.
As a result, you may notice:
- Longer waiting times on the telephone
- Reduced availability of routine appointments
- Slower responses to non‑urgent enquiries
- Some temporary changes to how services are delivered, allowing us to prioritise urgent and clinically necessary care
Our priority remains the safe and appropriate care of our patients. Our teams are working hard to maintain services, with staff supporting one another and, at times, covering different roles to ensure urgent care continues to be available.
How you can help during this time
We kindly ask patients to:
- Please be patient and understanding with our team
- Use online services where possible
- Consider https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/pharmacies/pharmacy-first/ for minor illnesses such as sore throat, earache, infected insect bites and uncomplicated urinary tract infections
- Use local services such as Minor Injury and Illness Units (MIU) for minor injuries and illnesses
- Consider the Gloucestershire Health Access Centre (GHAC) for urgent GP appointments when appropriate
- Request urgent appointments only for urgent medical needs
If you need urgent medical attention, please continue to contact the practice.
For medical advice outside of our opening hours, please contact https://111.nhs.uk/.
In a life‑threatening emergency, please call 999.
We understand that delays can be frustrating and sincerely thank you for your patience, kindness and understanding during this time.
