COVID Vaccination Information
Cheltenham Peripheral Network will be vaccinating patients against Covid-19 from a designated site in central Cheltenham.
As of 25 February, we have now offered an initial vaccination invite to all patients aged in the 16-64 with underlying health conditions cohort. We will be vaccinating this group for the next few weeks alongside patients who are now due their second vaccination. This does mean it will take a little longer than previously to start inviting the next cohort which is those patients aged 60-64.
We are continuing to send invites for patients to book via ‘Accubook’ – a text service for use with Smartphones. As we are working jointly across all of the Cheltenham practices these messages will come from your registered surgery. The message will invite you to click a link book.nhs in order to book your appointment. Please watch the short video below which shows the booking process.
Please do not worry, if you do not have a mobile or smartphone or do not respond in this way. We will be contacting any patients that do not respond or that do not have a mobile number on their record via phone or letter to book/confirm your appointment.
Patients will continue to receive details of the site and how to arrange an appointment on an invite only basis, following the priority groups specified by NHS England and Public Health England.

Covid Vaccination Invites
We understand that the Covid 19 vaccination programme invite system is causing some confusion, and thought it may be helpful to clarify how this is working.
There are currently two different invites being sent to eligible patients – if you have not yet been vaccinated you will receive both invites. There may be a gap of up to two weeks between the two invitations.
You will receive an invite on behalf of your surgery from our central booking team for vaccination at our local vaccination centre. This is at the Cheltenham East Fire Station, next to Sandford Lido. This site is staffed by staff from local NHS GP surgeries.
The separate national invite system invites patients to book at a Mass Vaccination site or some pharmacy locations. Cheltenham does not have a Mass Vaccination Site. The closest mass vaccination sites are Worcester, Malvern and Bristol. You have the option to travel to these sites and have your vaccination if you wish.
We are currently inviting patients over 60 to book for their vaccination. We are also vaccinating patients in earlier groups who that had not yet responded to their invitation.
Based on our current vaccine supply we are expecting to have invited everyone aged 50+ by the first week in April.
